I never imagined that my interest in art would one day become a project.
It all grew gradually - with each discovery, each new acquaintance, and each object that made me pause and look a little deeper. In time, this journey took on the name RARITUS.
Over time, the objects and their owners changed, while experiences, connections and stories accumulated. Yet one thing remained unchanged - my relationship with art.
In time, I came to understand that an interest in art is more than gathering knowledge or searching for beautiful things. It is also a way of seeing the world. Of noticing what others might pass by without stopping. Of appreciating not only what is obvious, but also what takes time to understand.
What has always mattered to me is not only what we hold in our hands, but also what lies behind the object itself. The work of a person, their choices, the circumstances of their life, the times they lived in. Everything that was once someone’s present is now, for us, history.
And yet, what fascinates me most is that this world can still surprise me. However much you learn, there will always be a work of art, a story or a detail that reminds you there is still more to discover. The more you learn, the more you realise how much remains unknown.
In moments like these, you realise that we are only a brief part of a much longer story. Perhaps that is why this world feels so close to me, and why my interest in it has not faded, but grown stronger.
