Description

“Korean Dance” is an Art Deco porcelain figurine made in Germany. The model was designed for the Rosenthal manufactory by the noted Austrian sculptor Constantin Holzer-Defanti.

The piece has an intriguing history: it depicts Anita Berber, the controversial Berlin dancer of the period, performing an exotic Eastern dance. The figurine is distinguished by its lively pose, captured in motion, its theatrical facial expression and its richly hand-painted costume in vivid colours with gilt details.

A valuable and distinctive example of German porcelain, this piece will make a striking addition to a collection or interior.

Height: approximately 41 cm
