“World of Art”

This cup and saucer were made at the renowned Lomonosov Porcelain Factory in St Petersburg. The decoration pays tribute to the early 20th-century Russian art movement “World of Art”, whose aesthetic is reflected in the delicate lines of the design. The graceful, flared cup and its saucer feature a romantic, spring-like pattern of garlands of green leaves and pink roses. A fine band of hand-applied gilding along the rims completes the composition.
